Charity Mile – 2 November 2019
If you’re undecided on where to watch the Rugby World Cup final on the 2nd of November, then look no further than the Joburg Beer Festival, taking place at Turffontein racecourse. For just R80 you can watch the match live on a big screen with a complimentary Heineken in hand and an abundance of entertainment throughout the day – from Oompha bands and Irish dancing to live horse racing and the running of the annual Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile. It’s a highlight on the horse racing calendar – a race with a reason – as 16 celebrities stand to win prize money for their chosen charity, each being represented by a horse in the race.
Whether you place your bets on the horses or take a gamble on the Spin and Win wheel, there are competitions, giveaways and prizes galore up for grabs, ensuring that you have multiple chances to win provided lady luck is on your side. With not one, but two ‘happy hours’, beer pong and drinks specials throughout the day along with a variety of food vendors, your catering needs will be cared for so you won’t need to leave your seat in front of the big screen. Kiddies entertainment will also be provided, so wear your green and gold in support of the Springboks and join in on a day jam-packed with festivities and live entertainment for the whole family (Please note that no under 18’s are allowed in the beer fest area however).
Gates open at 10h00 and entrance on to the race course is free so don’t miss out!
