A spoil for the ladies

Although August is usually the month that we celebrate the fairer sex, and we did promise a celebratory event on the 11th August, Racing. It’s A Rush has moved the date of our Hollywood inspired 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s Annual Ladies Day event to Saturday, 17th November 2018, in the Peninsula Room at Kenilworth Racecourse from 11am.

The amusing duo of Jenny Morris and Dr Darren Green will still MC the event, with the highlight of the day being the charity horse auction. A 2 year old horse will be put up for auction where proceeds from the highest bid will be donated to the charity- Evita’s Crafters. In addition to this, all training fees will be donated by the trainer for the duration of the racing career.

The Darling Trust, established in August 2003 by founding member and current patron, Pieter-Dirk Uys, “the most famous woman in South Africa”- Evita Bezuidenhout. Pieter- Dirk Uys, a resident of Darling and who is well known for his lengthy career as a performer on South Africa’s screens and stages and is also a well known author and social activist.

What would a race day be without fashion? Hip Hop in association with Palladium Hair Co will treat the ladies, whilst sipping on a blend from the exceptional Stellenbosch vineyard of Tokara, to the latest fashion from the runways of New York and Paris. Remember that the Hip Hop stores in The Cape Quarter and Willowbridge Mall Hip Hop stores are offering discount vouchers towards your outfit for this event. With a gift bag including a voucher for a complimentary blow wave and a Kevin Murphy hair treatment from Palladium Hair Co- the spoils are endless!

Tickets are R550 per head which includes a welcome drink on arrival, 3 course buffet lunch, entertainment, prize giveaways, a full goodie bag (which includes an additional voucher from Hip Hop) and a great view of the track.
