Cartier to sponsor prestigious race

Cartier takes over Grade 1 Paddock Stakes

In an exciting development for South African racing it was recently announced that international luxury brand Cartier will take over the sponsorship of the prestigious Grade 1 Paddock Stakes in 2018, set to be run on Saturday, January 6th during the  L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival.

Cartier came on board as a co-sponsor of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate in 2016 and has in the past two years sponsored the Grade 3 Politician Stakes, while also sponsoring the Grade 2 Sceptre Stakes in 2017. However, due to the ever-increasing international allure of the event it was decided that Cartier will increase their exposure in 2018 by taking over the sponsorship of the now named Grade 1 Cartier Paddock Stakes, arguably the strongest race for fillies and mares in South Africa.

With a long-standing partnership with LQP Racing Festival, Maine Chance Farms will transfer the sponsorship of the race to Cartier, while committed to remain supportive of the racing industry in South Africa.

The L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival is the only event sponsored by Cartier in Africa and will take place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th January 2018.

Tickets for this exclusive event are on sale at Computicket with prices starting at R350 for Style Lounge tickets and range up to R 1,300 and R1,500 for the Stud Club and Kenilworth Jazz Room, respectively.

The best value tickets are the R500 for the LQP Garden Party. These grant you access on Friday to live jazz, and bottomless complimentary L’Ormarins Brut Cap Classique, Heineken on tap and a Summer Harvest Table in the garden, while also granting you “Style Lounge” tickets for the Saturday: the Style Lounge being where the all-too-famous after party is going to take place on Saturday night.
