DOUBLE FEATURE FOR THE WORLD SPORTS BETTING GRAND SERIES
This weekend, the Vaal Racecourse was supposed to hold the World Sports Betting Grand Heritage and Grand Heritage Consolation races. Phumelela Executives and a panel of trainers descended on the course yesterday and unfortunately, the going had not improved sufficiently, and in the interest of safety for both the horse and jockey, a unanimous decision was made to move the race meeting to Turffontein Racecourse this Saturday.
All is not lost however as it just gets better.
As Turffontein Racecourse cannot accommodate 28 horses in a field, World Sports Betting have agreed for the race to be split into 2. This means that there will be a Leg 1 and Leg 2. Both races will consist of 14 horses and 2 reserves.
Stakes will be paid to the first 10 horses to cross the line in each leg for a total stake of R1 million (R500, 000 for each race). And in an exciting clincher in December, the winners of these two races will go head to head, in quite literally, a 2 horse field for the Series Title.
Families are reminded that there is still plenty of live entertainment to be had which includes a designated kiddies play area.
Entrance is free and gates open from 11am. For hospitality bookings, please call (011) 681 1508
