Turffontein Racecourse hosts the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown and Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara series. Now if you remember, the Triple Crown consists of 3 races, in quick succession for 3 year old horses only. It is considered to be one of the greatest achievements in Thoroughbred horseracing and one of the hardest to achieve. What we refer to as the “first leg”, the Gauteng Guineas, was run on the 2nd February over 1600m. We will have the SA Classic over 1800m taking place on the 2nd March with the Derby and Wilgerbosdrift S A Oaks on the 30th March.

It’s a day that celebrates families and ensures that both young and old, are kept entertained. As always we have a designated kiddies entertainment area where the little ones can play to their hearts content. We have fun lucky draws throughout the day with R10 000 cash to be handed out. You too could be a winner! Families can pull up at the tables in the beer garden and enjoy a day of racing with live entertainment between the races. It does after all have 12 races carded so the day will be jam-packed.

If you and  your friends are looking for a little bit of elegance, then don’t forget to book in the stylish Racing. It’s A Rush Member’s Lounge. This venue offers only the best in beverages and meals and has live DJ’s and entertainment throughout the day.

There are even private tote facilities on your doorstep.

The lounge, with its perfect placement on the racecourse, allows you to have the best views of the track and parade ring, but it is imperative to remember that strict dress codes apply, so gents- dress smartly- jackets/ blazers are a must. Ladies- of course your best ensemble is the order of the day.
