Joburg’s Triple Crown and Tiara Series
Although we still have the spectacular Met in Jozi to enjoy this upcoming weekend, we cannot help but get excited for the first leg in Jozi of the Triple Crown and Triple Tiara series. We have brought these events a month earlier and we kick off with Guineas Day on Saturday, 2nd February at Turffontein Racecourse.
Don’t forget that we have already had the first alternate legs in Cape Town- the Cape Guineas and Cape Fillies Guineas during December and we hope to see the winners of these features take their place in the line up in the upcoming series on the Highveld. A whopping R2-million bonus awaits the horse who wins all three legs of the Triple Crown series, and a R1- million bonus will be paid to the winning filly of a 3 legs in the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara.
This is a massive task but you may recall we were able to witness this last when Abashiri cruised to victory in 2016.
Turffontein Racecourse is destined to be a beehive of activity with plenty of entertainment on course for the whole family. A festive beer garden and a variety of hospitality options will be available to suit everyone. Entrance is free but be sure to be a part of the whole series- with the SA Classic happening on the 2nd March and the SA Derby on the 30th March.
