Kenilworth Racecourse is set to become a hive of activity on Saturday as we gear up for the final fling of the Summer of Champions.

The Vasco Prix Du Cap (Gr 3) provides the day’s horseracing highlight and as usual on this fantastic raceday an afternoon of fun, food and festivities is planned to keep everyone smiling.

As far as food offerings go, the Cape Town Prawn Festival will satisfy the hungriest of appetites with the offer of 1kg of prawns with sauce and rice or chips for R169.

Tickets for the Cape Town Prawn Festival, as well as general access tickets of R30 for adults and R10 for under-18s, are available from Computicket, and pre-sale prawn voucher purchases ensure a fast-track pass to the offer on the day.

General access tickets also ensure automatic entry into the various lucky draws throughout the day with R50 000 worth of home appliances to be given away.

There will also be a variety of other food vendors on the day to ensure that everyone is catered for.

This is a day out for the whole family with children’s entertainment lined up to keep them busy with a host of activities including face-painting and jumping castles while Cape-based comedian and radio presenter Mark Fitzgibbon will be the MC on the day.

The Cape Minstrels will be putting on a special performance while the on-course DJ will keep the party going throughout the afternoon.
