Press Room

We only have 2 weeks to go until the 2 horse match race takes place at the Vaal Racecourse on Saturday, 8th December.

You may recall that the World Sports Betting Grand Heritage race was split into 2 races and moved to Turffontein Racecourse due to the (and we are certainly not complaining) torrential rain leading up to the original day in September. All thanks to the sponsors, World Sports Betting who saw this as a great opportunity to be associated with not one big race, but 2 and the all important match race between the winners of the said races.

This feature will be heading back to the Vaal Racecourse on the 8th when Tsitsikamma Dance from the Ashley Fortune yard and the Stuart Pettigrew trained Soldier On take go head to head in a 2 horse race, from the 1475m mark, down the straight. The winner of this event takes the whole R250, 000 stake cheque which is proudly sponsored by World Sports Betting. Should either of these runners not take their place in the race, the reserve runners are Zouaves and Full Of Attitude (2nd and 3rd horses to Tsitsikamma Dance) and Dan The Lad with Lake Kinneret (runners up to Soldier On).

Stable employees from various yards will also take their places in a 40 person race.  The first 5 across the line will take a share of R20, 000. This will be a wonderful day out for the whole family. Children will be treated to Father Christmas handing out goodie bags and as always, there will be plenty of kid’s entertainment. What a wonderful way to start the holidays!!

Bring your picnic baskets and make sure that you take part in the many prize giveaways to be held throughout the day.
